About us

For my entire life, I've been obsessed with creating. I started sewing when I was 5 years old, and quickly developed a passion for embroidery, knitting, crochet, and plush-making, spending hours after school in my room poking myself with pins and trying to bring my dreams into reality. At the age of 12, I won MasterChef Junior, and my entire life changed. I put my love for sewing on hold for many years to pursue my culinary career, and by the time I was 18 years old I was working at a 3 Michelin-starred restaurant in the Japanese countryside.

The day I discovered leathercraft, I was still working as an apprentice in Japan. One of the few people who understood me during that time, my friend Yamazaki Kizashi, owned a small atelier and offered to make me a wallet. When I received it I was in awe; I had never owned something so personal, and I was immediately brought back to the days I spent at home making objects that brought me joy. After moving back to San Diego in 2021, I quickly started experimenting with leathercraft in my newfound free time and founded Atelier Odom.

Atelier Odom exists as a reminder that true luxury is not defined by a price tag, but is found in the smallest everyday moments. It is found in the care we show for each ourselves, each other, and the world around us. Beauty dwells within the silence, and within our memories. To the pursuit of making the world a more beautiful place.
